Police cameras record dialogues about the release of a Porsche driver in SP

Body cameras of military police officers who responded to the accident involving a Porsche that killed an app driver and left a young man seriously injuredat the end of March, in the East Zone of São Paulo, they recorded dialogues dealing with the release of the driver of the luxury car, Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho, aged 24.

He surrendered to the Civil Police on Monday (6), after three days on the run. On Friday night (3), the São Paulo Court of Justice (TJ-SP) ordered the arrest of Fernando Sastre. His defense appealed to the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) on Sunday (5), and the request for freedom will be judged on Tuesday afternoon (7).

The new images, released by the g1 portal, show an explanation from a police officer for releasing the driver from the scene of the accident. The Civil Police treated the situation as an escape from the scene of the accident.

In the complaint, the Public Ministry of São Paulo (MP-SP) defended that the PM who released the driver be investigated on suspicion of passive corruption. The PM’s Internal Affairs Department is investigating the case.

“Then his mother arrived: ‘no, you need to help him, it’s not okay… I’m going to the PS’. Of course, I’m not going to say, ‘no, he won’t help’, but he is the driver. She had a witness who said that apparently he was responsible for the accident and he left the scene. So: he went out to be helped. So we go there to another PS [Pronto Socorro] to see if he is really there, if he has been attended to, how he is,” says the military police officer who released the driver.

The recording was made while the camera was on the vehicle’s dashboard, and the agents were waiting for the death certificate of Ornaldo Viana, aged 52, who died in the accident. It is worth remembering that the mother of the Porsche driver did not take her son to the designated hospital.

The g1 report also revealed conversations recorded by the camera of a PM from another team that responded to the accident.

“According to two people I called as witnesses, the guy in the Porsche was coming and accelerated, he was coming very fast, he lost control of the car and hit that car. [Sandero]. And the driver of the Porsche said that the only thing he remembers is that they were leaving a party, that they were going to his house or a friend’s house to play pool and that was it. He said he doesn’t remember anything else. He just remembers that. Then an accident happened and he doesn’t remember anything else,” says the police officer.

Fernando Sastre de Andrade Filho is defendant for the crimes of qualified intentional homicide and serious bodily injury. The MP-SP complaint indicated that he was driving drunk and at high speed when he hit the back of the car driven by the victim.
