Candidates from the CNU (Unified National Competition) – also known as the Enem of competitions – arrived this Sunday morning (5) at the test sites and were surprised by closed gates and empty institutions.
The unfortunate surprise comes after the postponement of the test, announced on Friday (3) by Minister Esther Dweck, of Management and Innovation in Public Services. The decision was taken after rain left people dead in Rio Grande do Sul and storms hit Santa Catarina in recent days.
Those registered claim that they were not aware of the announcement and that there was no notification of the change in date.
“I was scared, I walked around the block several times to make sure I wasn’t getting the location of the test wrong, I didn’t see any news, I didn’t receive any notification or email, I only found out now that it was postponed,” said Aline Kalafi, 32, a of the candidates who did not know about the postponement.
Kalafi, who is a nutritionist, states that he was preparing for the “Enem of competitions” since his registration and that he did not see the topic being covered in newspapers or social networks.
Some selection candidates shared the shock of the postponement X, formerly Twitter. Among the comments, the most common points to the lack of communication from the MGI (Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services) about the postponement.
The department responsible for organizing the competition sent, on Saturday (4), an email to candidates informing them of the postponement of the test and its failure to take place on the scheduled date.
MGI was contacted, but has not yet responded.
Eduardo Almeida, 44, also did not know about the postponement. Registered in the thematic block on Work and Server Health, he states that he heard about the rains and the possibility of postponement, but not the official announcement.
“I’m lucky to live in the region, commuting takes time and not everyone has this facility. The competition is an opportunity to improve your life, for stability, but it really is a complicated situation that we are going through in the south, we have to show solidarity.”
Almeida, despite saying he is slightly frustrated, will use the extra time — MGI has not announced a new date for the test — to study more for the selection.
“I haven’t had much time to prepare, I’ve been studying, but I’m not a competitive candidate. On the one hand, there’s this issue of taking advantage of the ‘opportunity’, however, there’s a bit of anxiety for the test that wasn’t planned.”
WHAT IS THE NEW TEST DATE?
The government does not yet have a new date for the tests, which will be applied simultaneously in all 228 cities included in the notice. To set the date, it is necessary to wait for what will be done in relation to the South, because the rains have not stopped yet.
There is, however, a timetable for application. It must not change and must be maintained on the day the exam takes place.

The evidence is kept in Post Office units. Since the beginning of the production of the evidence, it has been monitored by Abin, the Federal Police, the Federal Highway Police and the Ministry of Justice.
WHAT IS THE SITUATION IN RIO GRANDE DO SUL TO CAUSE THE COMPETITION TO BE POSTPONED?
As of Sunday morning (5), the state recorded 66 people dead and 101 missing as a result of the rains. At least 80,000 are homeless and 421 properties are without electricity.
According to the Civil Defense of Rio Grande do Sul, 332 municipalities were affected by the historic flood, which corresponds to more than half of the municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul. There are 707,190 people affected by the tragedy.
