The Federal Highway Police (PRF) informs about the blocking points on federal highways in the region this Sunday (5). Some sections of BR-158, BR-392 and BR-287 are completely closed. To date, Santa Maria has no connection with the capital of Rio Grande do Sul. The last update from the PRF is at 6:45 am this Sunday. Check out:
- BR 158 km 293 – Partial blockade: Only light vehicles pass through the Val de Serra Interchange (another blockade further ahead, with difficulty in returning)
- BR 158 km 36, Itaara – half lane, light vehicles only (half of the lane gave way, unstable lane)
- BR 158 km 312 to 321 – Itaara/Santa Maria, Total interruption (fall of part of the track, several points with ground movement, landslides)
- BR 392 km 319 – Vila Block, at km 345 – Frigorifico Silva, total blockage (bridgehead fell completely into the green)
- BR 287 km 312, Toropi River, total blockage. (The floodplain bridge gave way)

Blockades on state highways
The bridge over the Ibicuí River, on ERS-640, in Cacequi, is completely blocked. Part of the headboard collapsed and the structure is at risk of collapsing. Because of this, the route between Santa Maria and Santiago it cannot be done by Cacequi and São Vicente do Sul. To get to Santiago and Cruz Alta, drivers must use the BR-158 until Rosário do Sul. Afterwards, go up the BR-290 until Alegrete and use the RSC-377, passing through Manoel Viana, São Francisco de Assis and Santiago. Travel time is estimated at five hours. To get to Cruz Alta, take BR-287 to São Borja and then use BR-285, passing through Ijuí. See map below.
The floodplain bridge Toropi River, on BR-287, is also completely banned, between São Pedro do Sul and Mata. Central part of the structure gave way. Dnit waits for the water level to drop to assess whether it will be possible to repair the structure or whether it will be necessary to demolish the bridge and build a new one.

- At km 5, in Dilermando de Aguiar, submerged track.
- At km 55, in Venâncio Aires, submerged track.
- At km 60, in Venâncio Aires, submerged track.
- At km 137, in Candelária, the bridge structure collapsed.
- At km 155, in Novo Cabrais, bridge head collapsing.
- At km 167, in Novo Cabrais, bridge head collapsing.
- At km 187, in Paraíso do Sul, bridge head collapsing.
- At km 190, in Restinga Seca, landslide and submerged track.
- At km 191, in Restinga Seca, bridge head collapsing.
- At km 226 and 227, in Santa Maria, bridge collapse and water on the road.
