Falavinha stated that the PT appears to be acting to remove Moro from political activity. The rapporteur saw a contradiction in the fact that the party filed a lawsuit against the former judge at TRE-SP, which prevented him from running for the Senate for São Paulo, and later tried to invalidate his election for Paraná.

Even the stones know that the investigated Sergio Moro would not need to carry out a pre-campaign to make his name popular, as he is notoriously known in the face of the wide media coverage involving the Lava Jato operation

Final word will be from the TSE

The TRE-PR decision will not yet be final, as it can be appealed to the TSE. The result may be challenged in the Superior Electoral Court, which will make the final decision. Former deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR), for example, won by 6 votes to 0 in the TRE, but ended up being unanimously revoked in the TSE.

If Moro is impeached, he will be ineligible until 2030. On the other hand, he will not lose his political rights and will be able to assume non-elective public positions such as Minister of State, which he held during the Bolsonaro government.

The impeachment, if it occurs, will lead to a supplementary election in Paraná. Since last year, politicians from Paraná have openly expressed interest in running for office. In Congress, parliamentarians consider the loss of office as almost certain and see Moro as a “former active senator”.
