In an interview with Collider, Laurie Metcalfwho played Billy Loomis’ psychopathic mother in the sequel ‘Scream 2‘, talked about what it was like playing a serial killer in the iconic franchise.
Furthermore, the actress revealed that she considers her revelation to be the best in the saga.
“All I had to do was play the character in two different ways. I played Debbie Salt as a villain, while Nancy I played as an angry mother seeking revenge for her son. In my head, they were two different characters. If you’re good at playing a psychopath, then you have a free pass to be as insane as you want.”
She completes, “I feel like of all the films in the ‘Scream’ franchise, my character’s reveal is the best in the saga.”
Please note that ‘Scream 7‘ is officially in development, and will mark the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, the original star of the series.
According to insider DanielRPK, Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) will also be back in the franchise. Although her return has not yet been officially confirmed, the journalist claims that she has already signed the contract.
