The youngest son of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), Luís Cláudio Lula da Silva, was accused by his ex-wife of physical aggression, including elbowing him in the stomach. Furthermore, the police report shows reports about him “contracting illness with a lover” and intentionally exposing his partner.
The attacks were reported in a police report, registered this Tuesday (2), at the São Paulo Women’s Police Station. A Itatiaia had access to the document.
In the incident, doctor Natália Maria Schincariol, who had a relationship for two years with Luís Cláudio, reported having suffered an elbow in the stomach in one of the couple’s fights, at the end of January this year, for refusing to hand over her cell phone to him. The victim also filed a complaint for verbal, psychological and moral violence, which would have put her physical and mental integrity at risk.
The doctor told investigators that she had to take a break from work for a month due to the trauma caused by the attacks, and that she was hospitalized with anxiety attacks. The victim said that she received threats from her ex-partner, and that she received insults such as “mentally ill”, “slut” and “crazy”.
Still in a report in the BO, Natália Schincariol said she had been publicly exposed on social media and in society, including the presence of the attacker with another person while the two were in a relationship. She reported having been manipulated and threatened not to report the attacks, under the allegation that the attacker was the son of the President of the Republic.
Luís Cláudio Lula da Silva’s defense said that he was aware of what he called “fanciful statements”, and stated that the statements were “slander, insult and defamation”. The defense also stated that it will take appropriate legal measures so that the doctor can respond for compensation for moral damages.
A Itatiaia contacted the Communications Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic (Secom) to find out if President Lula will comment on the accusations against his son, but has not yet received a response. The space remains open for future demonstrations.
