The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, threatened this Thursday (28) to attack F-16 fighters used by Ukraine and which are at North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) bases.

American-made military planes were donated by several Western countries to Kiev to help in the war against Moscow.

“If they are used from airports in third countries, then they will be a legitimate objective for us, no matter where they are,” Putin said at a meeting with Military Air Force pilots in the Tver region.

The president also warned that Russia will take into account the fact that F-16s can carry nuclear weapons, but assured that the supply of Western fighters to Ukraine “will not change the situation on the battlefield.”

Putin, however, called “complete nonsense” suggestions that Moscow plans to invade other European countries after Ukraine. “They are intimidating their populations with a potential Russian threat, while trying to expand their dictatorship across the world,” he added. .
