Vaccination against influenza begins this Wednesday in Cabo Frio | Lakes Region

The Vaccination Campaign against influenza in Cabo Frio, in the Lakes Region of Rio, begins this Wednesday (27). The start was scheduled for Monday (25), but was postponed due to the forecast of heavy rain in the region.

Immunization is aimed at priority groups defined by the Ministry of Health and continues until May 31st.

Priority groups for vaccination include children aged 6 months to 5 years, 11 months and 29 days, elderly people aged 60 and over, pregnant women; postpartum women, indigenous people, health workers, teachers, people with permanent disabilities over 12 years of age and adolescents in socio-educational measures.

In addition to the population deprived of liberty, employees of the deprivation of liberty system, armed, security and rescue forces, people living on the streets; truck drivers, urban and long-distance road passenger transport workers and port workers.

With a goal of immunizing 90% of the population in each priority group, the objective of the campaign is to reduce complications, hospitalizations and mortality resulting from influenza virus infections, especially among the most vulnerable groups.

The doses will be available in 31 health units, which are open from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm.

On Saturday, the day April 13tha day of national mobilization is scheduled to intensify vaccination.

To receive the vaccine, you must present your vaccination record and an identification document or national SUS card.
