A one-year-old and two-month-old baby choked and was saved by a military man, this Monday (18), at the Governador Valadares bus station.

The mother, the child and the three brothers were traveling to Almenara and the bus stopped at the Governador Valadares bus station for lunch.

At this moment the woman got out of the vehicle and saw that the boy was choking. She screamed for help when the military police officer, Sergeant Neyson Gomes, who works in the city of Coroaci and was waiting for the bus at the bus terminal in Governador Valadares, noticed the desperate mother with her child fainting.

The soldier took the child in his arms and started the procedures known as the Heimlich Maneuver, which is a first-aid technique used in cases of asphyxiation emergencies, caused by a piece of food or any type of foreign body that is obstructing the airways, preventing the person from breathing.
