It’s not a joke. Just like Gaahl or Necrobutcher giving interviews, the announcement of the collaboration between Liquid Death and elf Beauty is serious.

The kit, aptly titled corpse paint, is inspired by the “corpse paint” traditionally used by black metal bands, and comes in a coffin-shaped packaging containing items such as lipstick, eye shadow and eyeliner.

“When you decide to create a different company, it’s important to align yourself with like-minded people. We are both challenger brands on a unique path,” said Kory Marchisotto, chief marketing officer at elf Beauty. “Elf and Liquid Death share a passion for self-expression and unexpected creativity. “No one understands makeup more than the black metal community,” added Andy Pearson, vice president of creative at Liquid Death. “Imagine how many times they put on and take off makeup for each show. elf was the perfect partner to bring this collaboration to life because they could help bring this versatile look into people’s everyday lives with high-quality, cruelty-free products animal.”

According to the humorous launch advertisement, which can be seen below, whoever purchases the kit will be able to “look as dark on the outside as you are on the inside.”
