The new version of Hellraiser, horror classic, revealed today (1st) some new photos [via EW]. Below, you can check out Pinhead’s first official image of Jamie Clayton (Sense8), in addition to a new Cenobite named for the production of The Mask and some of the human characters.

On the decision to cast Clayton as Pinhead, a character played by Doug Bradley on the 1987 original and several of its sequels, director David Bruckner (the dark house) comments: “We felt anticipation from the fans, they expected us to reimagine the character.”
“We knew our Pinhead would be a woman, and Jamie was the right person for the role.“, he continues, assuring that the identity of the actress (a transgender woman) was not decisive in the casting. “A person’s identity can make them attractive for a role, but the truth is, Jamie just rocked his audition. That’s how we got here.“.
The new Hellraiser accompanies Riley (Odessa A’zion), defined by Bruckner as “a young woman who is struggling with addiction, and who accidentally comes into contact with the box” infernal that is part of the mythology of Hellraiser since the first movie. “Unfortunately, she starts to fiddle with the object, and chaos ensues.“, says the director.
The creator of the franchise, Clive Barkeracted as a consultant on the film: “He was very involved, he arrived before filming and he was a great source of knowledge. The new Hellraiser still has Brandon Flynn (13 Reasons Why), Goran Visnjic (the boys), Drew Starkey (Outer Banks) and Hiam Abbass (Blade Runner 2049) in the list. The debut was for october 7th in the USA, through the platform hulu.
There is still no information about the launch in Brazil, although Hulu productions usually arrive here via Star+.
Over four films released between 1987 and 1996 in theaters, the franchise Hellraiser it managed to gross just under $50 million at the box office, but still nurtured an avid fan base and achieved cult status. Six other films emerged from the home video market, with the franchise extending to comics and collectibles.
