The sequel to the film “O Auto da Compadecida” gained new images this Tuesday (02.04). The film is one of the most anticipated of 2024 and already has its release date set. The production, starring Selton Mello and Matheus Nachtergaele, will arrive in cinemas throughout Brazil on the day December 25th.
The cast includes Selton Mello and Matheus Nachtergaele, who reprise their roles as Chicó and João Grilo. Directed by Guel Arraes and Flávia Lacerda, with production by Conspiração and H2O Films, “O Auto da Compadecida 2” maintains the spirit of Ariano Suassuna’s work.
This Tuesday (02.04), the first image of Eduardo Sterblitch, who will play the villain Arlindo, was released. “He’s a villain, let’s put it that way. Because he wants to take advantage of this naivety that he sees in Chicó and João Grilo, and the opportunity he has to gain more power”, explained the actor in a promotional video for the film. The cast also includes Taís Araújo, Eduardo Sterblitch, Humberto Martins and more. It is worth remembering that the first film, released in 2000, broke records as the most watched Brazilian feature film that year.
