This Thursday (1st), the bus line 254 (Madureira-Candelária) returned to the streets of Rio. But the first collective to leave the North took a trip to the past. Instead of the electronic sign announcing the itinerary, a paper glued to the windshield identified that car was a 254.

The driver said he already left the garage with the paper pasted over the numbering of another line.

The planned return for the 254 provides for the circulation of four buses at peak times. In the morning, the average interval between cars is 30 minutes, and in the late afternoon, four cars with an average interval of 45 minutes.

Line 254 is one of those included since June, after the legal agreement signed between the city hall and the bus consortia and the State Public Ministry. In the agreement, the vehicles committed to resume routes to serve all regions of the city.

Another six bus lines will return to the city in September.
