During this year’s election period, the TV Globo exhibits proposals from candidates for the Federal District government on different topics. This Thursday (1st), they began to answer what they intend to do, if elected, to solve the problems of the Plano Piloto Bus Station.

See below what the postulants to the Buriti Palace say on the subject:

  • Leandro Grass, candidate for the GDF for PV:

“Revitalize the bus station. Fix the broken escalators, the broken toilets, increase surveillance at the bus station, to combat violence there, and also increase the cleaning service that is currently precarious. There are few professionals to take care of the entire bus station. And organize the bus station, so that the licensees, the merchants who are there work more peacefully, healthier, with more dignity. [sobre] street vendors, which today are considered a problem, we go with these people to find places to sell them, we are going to formally include them in the job market and give them conditions to have access to income. So, the bus station is a priority. In the first six months of government, we will intervene in the bus station so that it is a place of respect for the people who pass by.”

  • Izalci, candidate for the GDF for the PSDB:

“Today, there are only street vendors, the bathrooms don’t even have water and faucets, it’s almost impossible for you to get into a bathroom like that. The stairs are broken. The government seems to push the bar to privatize to deliver to others. people can survive from that business, in the sense that you value those who are there. There are people there for 60 years. You have to provide conditions for them to live from their own business. Really put it back like a postcard from Brasília, there it is in the center the capital. So the government really needs to do the infrastructure, provide conditions, do maintenance. You go there, nothing works. So that’s what’s missing: management.”

  • Paulo Octávio, candidate for the GDF for PSD:

“There’s no point in having a bus station in the city center, on the Monumental Axis, with these problems. Bathrooms that don’t work. What’s missing? the escalator. Public equipment as important as the unattended bus station and people just complaining is no longer allowed. The attention is total. In our government, I want to come to the bus station every week to see what is happening. things done well, I like things working. This is something that can no longer happen in Brasília, a busted bus station.”
