Owners of vehicles in the State of Paraíba with final plate number 5 can now issue an IPVA (Motor Vehicle Property Tax) invoice to make payment for the 2024 financial year.

The invoice is released on the State Department of Finance (Sefaz-PB) portal, through the link https://www.sefaz.pb.gov.br/servirtual/ipva/emitar-dar.

Paraíba taxpayers also have two other options for paying the tax, but this time without the discount: installments in three installments, with the first due also by May 31st; and full payment of IPVA, without discount, by July 31st.

Also due on May 31st is the second installment of the plate with ending 4, the third and final installment of the plate with ending 3, in addition to those who chose to make full payment of the IPVA for the plate with ending 3, without discount, which must also be paid. until May 31st.

NOTE BEFORE PRINTING – To issue the IPVA bill, the owner must have data such as CPF or CNPJ (Legal Entity); vehicle and Renavam license plate number.

When printing, two options appear: DAR (Collection Document) or Compensation Form.

In the DAR option, the taxpayer will only pay at official bank branches such as Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Itaú and Caixa Econômica Federal, while in the Compensation Form option, the taxpayer can pay at any banking institution.

The IPVA bill for final plate 5 must be printed online. The issue is available on the Sefaz-PB portal link https://www.sefaz.pb.gov.br/servirtual/ipva/emitar-dar or on the Detran-PB portal (www.detran.pb.gov.br ).

Payment must be made at bank branches of Banco do Brasil, Itaú, Bradesco, and Caixa Econômica Federal, through the self-service service of one of these banks; but also in lottery outlets; or, more practically, in mobile banking – an application available by banks on mobile devices such as smartphones.

AUTOMATIC EXEMPTIONS – In addition to vehicles over 15 years old or manufactured after 2008, from this year 2024, through Law 12,489, owners of motorcycles with up to 170 engine capacity, since January 2023, are exempt from paying IPVA. Both vehicles over 15 years old and motorcycles with up to 170 engine capacity will have automatic exemptions, that is, they do not need to request the exemption, as the Sefaz-PB system automatically releases them. Exempt owners will only need to pay for licensing at Detran-PB.

Categories exempt from paying IPVA with final plate number 4 and who requested exemption from the tax last year need to prove their exemption by May 31st.

According to IPVA legislation, categories such as those with physical disabilities, based on the new decree 40.959/2020 of Ordinance No. 176/2020, in addition to visual, mental or autistic disabilities, taxi drivers, vehicles registered with the Ministry of Tourism as tourist transport .

These categories will have to send by email or deliver documentation to a tax office, proving the exemption by May 31st, as a criterion for enjoying the benefit in 2024. On this same day, these categories can now request the exemption from 2025.

To prove it via email, simply attach the requested documents, in PDF format, and send them to the email: [email protected].

The documents that need to be sent in PDF format are those contained in Ordinance 308/2017, as per art. 55 of the RIPVA (Motor Vehicle Property Tax Regulation)

It is important to remember that these exempt vehicles must pay the other fees involved in registration, such as mandatory insurance (DPVat), Detran-PB licensing and the Firefighter Tax.
