Military personnel sent by the government will help manage the receipt and distribution of donated items.

The superintendent of the State Civil Defense Actions Command, Colonel Erisvaldo Alves, explained that in cases such as floods, three actions must be taken: relief, assistance to victims and restoration of essential services.

“The Fire Brigades are focused on the first, relief, and their actions are coordinated by the National Council of Military Fire Brigades of Brazil. The other two actions are developed by the Civil Defense and coordinated by the Council of Civil Defense Managers”, he said. the colonel.

The Tocantins fire team is focused on searching for the body of a victim, who has been buried since last week, in the rural area of ​​Bento Gonçalves. The area is difficult to access and according to the military, two machines were used to remove more than 250 cubic meters of mud, which caused the team to sink up to their knees and even bogged down the search dogs.

Due to the difficulty, the body of the 27-year-old woman was not found and the search is expected to resume this Wednesday. Two bodies have been found by the team so far.
