Military police officers from the Tactical Force recaptured, yesterday, a re-educated fugitive from the Ahmenon Lemos Dantas Penitentiary Complex, in Várzea Grande. Erick Rubens Magalhães de Campos, 28 years old, was found in the municipality after police forces received anonymous complaints.
According to information in the police report, the complaint, received at around 4:30 pm, reported that a fugitive was hiding in a residence in the Figueirinha neighborhood. The team then went to the address provided and found the suspect with the same characteristics as the report. During the approach, the man did not present documents and confessed that he was a fugitive from the prison unit.
The fugitive was arrested and taken to the Polinter Police Station to register the incident and take other measures. His escape occurred last month along with two other inmates. The search continues for the other two, as well as six others who are also on the run from the same prison complex.
