Operation Vampires tries to arrest men who shot a motorcyclist and pillion in Patos de Minas

On the afternoon of this Tuesday (07/05), following an investigation by the Civil Police, the “VAMPIROS” operation was launched in Patos de Minas, with important support from the Military Police. Three search and seizure warrants were executed and two arrest warrants were issued.

The operation aimed to arrest two individuals suspected of two attempted murders that occurred on Friday, 05/03/2024, in Patos de Minas. On the day of the crime, the suspects saw the victims on a motorcycle and began shooting at them. After the first shots, the victims tried to escape, but were pursued by the perpetrators, who during the chase fired more shots on public roads until they hit one of the victims in the chest. The victims managed to continue their escape, managing to lose their attackers. After the events, the victim was taken to the hospital, where she underwent a medical procedure and is still hospitalized.

The civil police represented the preventive arrest of the suspects, which was granted by the judiciary, and on Tuesday, the search and seizure warrants were executed. The two individuals are on the run. The civil police are continuing efforts to locate and arrest the suspects, who are 18 and 23 years old.

The operation was called Vampires in reference to criminals who suck lives and want to kill other people for selfish reasons.

The civil police reinforces its commitment to giving the same attention to the crimes of attempted and completed homicide, aiming to increasingly guarantee the feeling of security of the inhabitants of Patos de Minas. The civil police would like to thank the population for trusting public security institutions.
