UMA parks in the district of Santiago do Iguape and joins the Court of Justice of the State of Bahia (TJ-BA) in the second edition of the National Campaign “Register”. Assistance will also be available in cases of rectification of records, opening of late registration, food, custody and visitation of children, health, free DNA tests, among others.
We returned to the roads of Bahia and arrived in Recôncavo with our Mobile Service Unit! This time it is the district of Santiago do Iguape, in Cachoeira, that will receive our team to guarantee free legal services to the population. The services will take place from May 13th to 16th, from 8am to 4pm, at Praça Geraldo Simões (formerly Praça da Matriz). The itinerant service will be part of the second edition of the National Campaign “Register”, in which the target audience continues to be socially vulnerable populations, such as indigenous populations, quilombolas and people deprived of their liberty.
DPE/BA will offer thelegal guidance, extrajudicial resolutions such as divorce, maintenance, custody and visitation of children, health, free DNA tests for investigation and recognition of paternity are among the services available to everyone in the municipality. To be served by the Mobile Unit, it is not necessary to make an appointment in advance. Residents will be served on a first-come, first-served basis and must present basic documents, such as ID, CPF and proof of residence, as well as all documentation necessary to resolve the user’s issue.
The Defender’s Office brings its services to strengthen the second edition of the National Campaign “Register”, promoted by TCourt of Justice of the State of Bahia. This year, the campaign will give special attention to indigenous communities and people in prison, focusing on those who are 180 days away from reintegration into society. The Federal Public Defender’s Office will also be one of the partners in this edition. The program, as reinforced by the National Council of Justice (CNJ), aims to “combat civil under-registration and expand access to basic documentation for people in vulnerable situations”. Register will be in 26 other cities in Bahia.
