The Department of Highways of Paraná (DER/PR), an agency of the Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics (SEIL), promoted an online public hearing on the concrete duplication and restoration work on PRC-466 between Pitanga, in the Center, and Guarapuava, in the Center-South. The hearing was broadcast on the YouTube platform and is available for those who were unable to watch it live in this link.

In addition to a new concrete runway, the current runway pavement will be restored using the whitetopping technique, in which the existing asphalt pavement is restored and used as a base for the new rigid concrete pavement slabs. With the duplication, the lanes will be separated by medians or New Jersey concrete barriers on urban perimeters.

The hearing took place last Friday (3). In total, works were presented along a 71-kilometer stretch, with projects divided into four lots, which provide for the following improvements, in addition to duplication and restoration:

Lot 01 – From Pitanga to the access to Santa Maria do Oeste

It also includes around 1 kilometer of PR-460 in Pitanga. In the municipality, viaducts are planned at the junctions with PR-239 and Avenida Universitária, as well as a side lane connecting the two, with a length of 1.8 kilometers, and a pedestrian walkway. A viaduct will also be implemented at the junction with PR-456, access to Santa Maria do Oeste

Lot 02 – From access to Santa Maria do Oeste to Boa Ventura de São Roque

It envisages the implementation of five at-grade returns, with a maximum distance of 5 kilometers between them, in addition to the doubling of the bridge over the Carazinho River.

Lot 03 – From access to Boa Ventura de São Roque to Turvo

It envisages the implementation of three at-grade returns, with a maximum distance of 5 kilometers between them, and duplication of the bridge over the Bonito River.

Lot 04 – From Turvo to Palmeirinha (Guarapuava district)

It envisages the implementation of a viaduct in Turvo and another in Palmeirinha, in addition to the duplication of the bridge over the Rio Turvo.

QUESTIONS – Interested parties who were unable to follow the public hearing live and register their questions or contributions can watch the recording of the event and send their comments via e-protocol, to the email [email protected], or via the WhatsApp application at (41) 9-9283-1480, for a period of five working days, until Friday (10).

All submissions will be responded to directly to the applicant and will also be collected and published on the DER/PR portal, where supporting material about the project is also available. Once this process is completed, the notice will be published to hire the company or consortium responsible for the work.

IDB – The development of concrete duplication and restoration projects for PRC-466 between Pitanga and Guarapuava is included in the Paraná Strategic Transport Infrastructure and Logistics Program, a partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
