For the next few days, weather conditions remain stable and favorable for the operation and the activity is expected to be completely completed.

However, according to harvest assessments, areas considered late are closing the activity with performance below expectations.

The report points to the interference of the climatic adversities initially faced, in addition to the phytosanitary pressure of some pests and diseases at the end of the cycle.

The latest bulletin released by Aiba also informs that so far, an area corresponding to 48 thousand ha in corn in the region.

When compared to the 2022/23 Harvest, the delay in the operation is evident due to the weather problems faced in establishing the crop at the beginning of the harvest (delay in sowing and replanting).

Furthermore, the presence of rain in certain periods at the end of the cycle influenced the result.

In the last week, activities have seen a considerable intensification in the operation, due to the favorable weather conditions presented.

According to Aiba, in partial harvest assessments, partial averages in Western Bahia are below estimates, around 140 sc/ha.

However, with the completion of the harvest, in most areas, crops such as beans, millet and sorghum and other forage crops are gaining ground in the monitored micro-regions.
