Representing the City of Navegantes, employees from the Management and Control Secretariat participated in the Municipal Integrity and Compliance Forum: Dialogue and Actions, held at the headquarters of the Association of Municipalities of the Foz do Rio Itajaí Region (Amfri), in Itajaí, last Monday -Friday (06).

The event featured speakers from the General Comptroller of the Union (CGU), Public Ministry of Santa Catarina (MPSC), Court of Auditors of the State of Santa Catarina (TCE/SC) and General Comptroller of the State of Santa Catarina (GCE/SC).

The meeting was aimed at municipal internal controllers in the Amfri region, being the first in a series to be held throughout the state, as a result of Technical Cooperation Agreement no. 6/2023, signed between TCE/SC, CGE/SC and MPSC to promote the implementation and execution of the Santa Catarina Municipal Integrity and Compliance Program (PICM).

According to the Secretary of Management and Control of Navigators, Natally Oliveira, training for municipal employees is important, as its principle is to improve the internal controls of municipal management, in addition to encouraging the implementation of good practices in the municipality, aiming to, thus, governance with responsibility, efficiency and transparency.

Navegantes and the other municipalities in the Amfri region were the first to be chosen to receive training due to the loan from the World Bank (Bird) with the Multipurpose Intermunicipal Consortium of the AMFRI Region (CIM-AMFRI) for the execution of the Integrated Mobility Project and Sustainable (Promobis), which includes the construction of the underwater tunnel connecting Navegantes and Itajaí.

According to the external control auditor of the TCE/SC, Luiz Alexandre Steinbach, “the resources will be released as soon as all municipalities in that region have implemented their integrity programs, a requirement of the World Bank”, which highlights the relevance of carrying out the training for Navegantes and the entire Amfri region.
