Websites and services online offered by the government of Rio Grande do Sul are offline or functioning precariously, without updates, after the headquarters of the Information and Communication Technology Center (Procergs) was flooded, in Porto Alegre.
On the state government portal, the latest news was published on Monday (6) at 8:43 pm, before the state data processing system was shut down to avoid a network collapse. On the state Civil Defense website, the last post was an alert, published on May 5th at 8:32 pm.
In the early afternoon of this Tuesday (7), the Department of Education even published a news item, shortly after noon, informing about the activation of channels to receive donations via Pix, in order to help victims of the floods . The previous publication was on May 4th, at 11:40 am.
The state services portal and the websites of departments, such as Finance; Logistics and Transport; and Health, are offline.
The system shutdown had already been announced by the technology center itself. “We inform everyone that, despite all the efforts made over the last few days, and all the different actions taken to preserve the Procergs and State Data Center, in the last few hours the flooding in Porto Alegre took on unprecedented proportions and water entered the company building in a volume that the company cannot overcome”, says the note.
According to Procergs, the shutdown was the alternative found to preserve the installed infrastructure and resume activities in the “shortest possible period of time”. The withdrawal of most services is temporary and there is still no forecast for the resumption of services, he said.
