Oil and gas royalties credited to SE totaled R$5.5 million in April | F5 News

The payment of royalties to the State of Sergipe, resulting from the extraction of oil and natural gas last February, reached the value of R$5.5 million. This information, released by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), was disclosed in an analysis carried out by the Economic Information Center of the Federation of Industries of the State of Sergipe (FIES), based on data provided by the ANP itself, which further informed that the amount was credited in April.

Compared to the previous month, March 2024, there was a 1.8% reduction in the transfer of these royalties.

Royalties are a financial contribution owed to the Union by companies that explore oil and natural gas in the national territory. These payments are made to the National Treasury Secretariat (STN), which is responsible for distributing resources to States and municipalities in accordance with the criteria established by laws No. 9,478/1997 and No. 7,990/1989.

Still according to the Fies core, from January to April 2024, royalties credited to the State of Sergipe totaled approximately R$21.3 million. This value represents an increase of 87.1% compared to the same period in the previous year, 2023.

In the month of April, royalties allocated to municipalities in Sergipe reached a total of R$13.9 million. The municipality that received the largest portion was Divina Pastora, with R$856.5 thousand, corresponding to 6.2% of the total amount distributed.

Next, the municipalities of Rosário do Catete (5.9%) and Pirambu (5.8%) stood out, with transfers of around R$818.1 thousand and R$811.0 thousand, respectively.

Other municipalities that also received amounts were Siriri (5.2%), Brejo Grande (5.2%) and Barra dos Coqueiros (4.9%), with transfers of approximately R$723.5 thousand, R$720.2 thousand and R$689.0 thousand, respectively, Fies also informed.
