The Civil Police of RJ began this Tuesday (7) an operation against theft of high-value cargo by a gang belonging to the Red Command (CV), the largest drug trafficking faction in the state. Until the last update of this report, 6 people had been arrested.

Agents from the Cargo Robbery and Theft Police Station (DRFC) went out to complete, in total, 9 arrest warrants and 9 for search and seizure.

Victims said in testimony that the bandits carried pistols, rifles and grenades and acted very violently. Some of the criminals wore electronic ankle bracelets.

The ammunition was stolen on April 14 in Pavuna, in the North Zone of Rio. Armed with rifles, the thieves hijacked a van with employees who went to the warehouse and, with privileged information, overpowered the security guards and accessed a safe room where around 10 thousand projectiles were stored. Everything was taken to Complexo do Alemão, also under the influence of the CV.

The criminals also approached trucks on the Washington Luís Highway (BR-040), near Reduc, in Duque de Caxias, and unloaded the items in Jardim Gramacho, in the same municipality.
