After the resumption of Projeto Seis & Meia in Rio de Janeiro, a major attraction was confirmed: the band The Fevers, who will perform on May 14th, Tuesday, at 6:30 pm, at Teatro Riachuelo. The show will be opened by the brothers Chico Faria & João Faria, known as Mano a Mano. They are the children of Ruy and Cynara – members of the groups MPB4 and Quarteto em Cy, respectively.

Popular among the artistic class in the 90s, the Seis & Meia project won over the public and gained prominence. However, in the early 2000s, it came to an end in Rio de Janeiro and began a new phase in the Northeast of Brazil, specifically in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, in the cities of Natal and Mossoró, where it achieved significant success and had great musical names in their performances, such as Zeca Baleiro, Zélia Duncan, Geraldo Azevedo, Fagner and Alceu Valença.

The Fevers:

Celebrating 59 years of career, the band promises to entertain the public with its new tour “From Vinyl to Digital”. The Fevers were formed in 1965 when bassist Liebert and his friends Pedrinho da Luz, Almir Bezerra, Cleudir Borges and Lécio Nascimento created the band The Fenders. They changed their name to The Fevers, inspired by an Elvis Presley song called “Fever”, as Fender was an existing guitar brand. “The transition from vinyl to CD was gradual and then accelerated”, comments the current vocalist, Luiz Claudio, who highlights the release of works in both media between 1995 and 2000.

The band, composed of Liebert (bass), Luiz Cláudio (vocals), Rama (guitar and guitar), Otávio Henrique (drums) and Cláudio Mendes (keyboards and vocals), promises to deliver a performance full of hits, including hits like “Mar de Rosas” and “Vem Me Ajudar”. The group’s most memorable shows include a performance at Maracanãzinho with the participation of Tim Maia, celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary, and another at Quinta da Boa Vista, in Rio de Janeiro.

An important milestone was the recording of the group’s DVD in Recife, in 2005. The Fevers was also part of the DVD commemorating Jovem Guarda’s 50th anniversary, held in São Paulo alongside Erasmo Carlos, Golden Boys and Wanderléa, which extended for almost a year of touring. The band’s most recent album, “Vem Dançar 2”, was well received due to the quality of the recording and the selection of the repertoire.
