An audio circulating on social media reports the drama of a man who appears to be volunteering to rescue victims of the environmental tragedy in Rio Grande do Sul. In an audio recording, he says, quite emotionally, that there were three children with him on a boat, and one of them asked him to pick up a floating doll. But when he tried to reach the toy, he realized that it was the body of a baby washed away by the floods.

“I stopped, I don’t have the heart for this anymore today,” said the unidentified man. “I’m leaving; enough”, he communicated, while crying.

The video does not say in which city the episode took place, but it tells the seriousness of the situation in the state. The man claims that “they” all went to Canoas, a municipality located in Greater Porto Alegre. “The rescue is over; that whoever left, left; Those who didn’t leave, won’t leave again”, he lamented.

He also said that he would not go to Mathias, referring to the Mathias Velho neighborhood, where the population was rescued using small boats. “There are a lot of people floating dead, the kids talked about going there, but I’m not going.”
