The president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), stated this Sunday (5/5), that the release of parliamentary amendments to aid Rio Grande do Sul will be a priority in the House. According to him, starting tomorrow, leaders from the Chamber and Senate will meet to discuss emergency measures and articulate laws for disaster prevention.

“The release of parliamentary amendments for RS will have to be a priority and it is up to us, starting tomorrow, to define complementary and ordinary laws to allow this to be done with legal certainty”, he pointed out.

Pacheco also stated that the time is now to “remove bureaucracy from the shelf and table.”

“We are in a war and, in fact, in a war, President Lula, I know that is your feeling, there are no limitations, there are no legal restrictions in common times. There is a need to remove bureaucracy from the shelf and table, the locks and the limitations so that Rio Grande do Sul lacks nothing for its reconstruction. We did this during the pandemic with great pride within the scope of the National Congress with a proposed amendment to the constitution that we called the PEC of War, with numerous exceptional legislative measures”, he amended.
