Celebrating 20 years since its first production, “Norma” premieres in Rio. The new version features actress Nívea Maria and actor Rainer Cadete in the main roles, with text by Tônio Carvalho and Dora Castelar, directed by Guilherme Piva and produced by Edgard Jordão and Joana Motta.
In the montage, Norma played by Nívea Maria is a lonely woman who, when moving into an apartment, ends up meeting Renato, the former tenant who asks her to provide her phone number and new address to anyone looking for him.
This meeting of such different people will transform their lives and will be the starting point of the play. Norma is a rigid woman, who strictly follows codes, laws, standards and remains the same, while Renato is a man who allows himself to make choices, take risks, change and be reborn at all times.
The differences between the characters are great and the way Renato governs his own life irritates the lonely Norma and confrontations become inevitable. However, during the course of the show, realities and extraordinary manifestations alter the path to the play’s outcome and the probability of everything changing can surprise everyone.
