Influencer Mapoua leaves prison after release permit is issued | Rio de Janeiro

Rio – Influencer Mapoua left the José Frederico Marques Public Prison, in Benfica, this Saturday (4). According to lawyer Vinicius Ponte, there was a delay due to an error in the prison classification, but the young woman left the prison at night.

The influencer’s release permit was issued on Friday and Adriana Jesus, her mother, arrived at the prison on Saturday morning to pick up her daughter. On social media, she published a video letting off fireworks and thanking the support after the court’s favorable decision.

Mapoua is responsible for illegal possession of a firearm and has been in prison since Monday (29), when judge Paulo Cesar Vieira de Carvalho Filho understood that the influencer’s defense acted “in bad faith” by requesting three requests for habeas corpus for three days in a row.

Lawyer Vinicius Ponte, on his social networks, stated that there are no limits to filing habeas corpus and classified the decision as a “legal aberration”.

“In current legislation, there are no limits to the filing of habeas corpus, and it can be filed by anyone, including even those who accuse. As there is no, in current legislation, for a judge to revoke the decision of one of his official peers just for the mere whim, with the allegation that the defense filed three habeas corpus. It is worth noting that what the noble judge did not say is that the habeas corpus granted was in the name of a lawyer different from the first two denied. a legal aberration that should be analyzed by the Justice Inspectorate”, he wrote.

This is Mapoua’s second stint in jail since she was arrested red-handed on March 26, for illegal possession of a firearm. At the time, she was in a car with five other people on Avenida Brasil, near Olaria, in the North Zone, when the vehicle was approached by the Military Police.

According to agents from the 22nd BPM (Maré), the car was in a “suspicious attitude” and the order was given to stop for an approach and search. A gun with ammunition and six cell phones were found inside the car. They were all taken to the 21st DP (Bonsucesso), where the influencer claimed to be the owner of the revolver.
