More than 500 stranded people are rescued by firefighters from SC in RS
Santa Catarina sent bags of blood to help victims of the storms in Rio Grande do Sul. Furthermore, this Sunday (5), the state of Santa Catarina sent a second aircraft to the state of Rio Grande do Sul to help with rescues.
The blood bags were transported by land to Passo Fundo (RS) by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). From this city, the material will be taken by helicopter to other regions of the state of Rio Grande do Sul affected by the storms.
The Santa Catarina Health Department said that, over the next week, more bags of blood will be sent, which are being collected at the Santa Catarina Hematology and Hemotherapy Center (Hemosc).

This Sunday, the Santa Catarina Civil Police helicopter located in Chapecó, in the west of the state, was sent to Rio Grande do Sul in the morning. The vehicle has already landed on Rio Grande do Sul soil.
This aircraft joins the team that has been operating in the neighboring state for four days. Police and military firefighters are committed to rescue work, especially in island areas that are difficult to access.

At least 516 people and 84 animals stranded in the floods of Rio Grande do Sul have been rescued by the Santa Catarina Fire Department since Wednesday (1st), the corporation reported on Saturday (4). The neighboring state has 66 confirmed deaths due to the storms.
Most of those rescued, according to firefighters, were waiting for help on roofs and even trees.
In total, 32 military firefighters from Santa Catarina operate in different regions of the state of Rio Grande do Sul with 10 4×4 vehicles, 11 boats and equipment for rescues in landslides.
