The Civil Defense of Santa Catarina predicts, for Saturday night (4), chances of isolated showers of rain with thunderstorms. Minimum temperatures vary between 16 and 25°C in areas bordering Rio Grande do Sul and range between 24 and 30°C in the rest of the state.

The forecast is due to the action of a low pressure system in the border areas between Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul during its movement towards the ocean.

For incidents related to falling branches/trees and damage to the electrical network, the risk is low to moderate. The risk of flooding and landslides is moderate to high, due to the rain in the previous days.

Civil Defense also warns that the sea will be rough on the South Coast, with waves of up to 2.5 meters and peaks of up to 3 meters. In Greater Florianópolis and the North Coast the sea is not very rough, with waves of up to 2.0m and peaks of up to 2.5m.

The wind can reach up to 60 km/h in all regions of the state.

Weather forecast for Sunday includes sun, clouds and rain showers

Sunday (5) should start with sun and varying clouds in the state. Between the afternoon and evening, due to the heat and humidity, it is possible for rain showers to form in the south of the state, close to the border with RS.

Minimum temperatures should vary between 18 and 23°C in the West, Far West and on the coast, oscillating between 13 and 19°C in the rest of the state.

During the afternoon, maximum temperatures can reach between 21 and 26°C in the Southern Plateau and in the highest points of the state and between 26 and 33°C in other regions.

The risk for events related to the predicted weather conditions is low, but remains moderate for landslides due to the soaking of the soil caused by the rain of the previous days.

The wind blows between weak and moderate throughout Santa Catarina.

Forecasts for Monday and other days

The weather remains stable on Monday (6). The sun should predominate from the Great West to the plateaus. On the coast and in nearby areas there may be variation in clouds.

According to the state’s Civil Defense, minimum temperatures should vary between 14 and 19°C between the plateaus and between 18 and 25°C on and near the coast.

During the afternoon, maximum temperatures vary between 23 and 26°C in the South Plateau and between 26 and 31°C throughout the state, with higher temperatures in the West, Far West, South Coast, Upper and Middle Valley.

There are no risks for meteorological events.
