Madonna’s megashow took 1.6 million people to Copacabana on Saturday night (4), according to Riotur. The number exceeded the estimate, which was 1.5 million.
After 12 years, the pop star performed her fourth show in Brazil. The performance, which started shortly after 10:30 pm and lasted around 2 hours, brought an end to “The Celebration Tour” world tour.
Pabllo Vittar participates in Madonna’s show in Copacabana
The biggest active pop star gave the biggest show in her history, with appearances from her children and singers Pabllo Vittar (“Music”) and Anitta (“Vogue”). The two didn’t sing, but they went on stage and performed with the diva.
Dressed in shirts from the Brazilian football team, Madonna and Pabllo danced together, to the sound of young rhythmists from samba schools in the country. The drag queen appeared during the performance of “Music”, released by the American in 2000.
Anitta appeared during the performance of “Vogue”.
During her performance of “Live to Tell”, Madonna paid tribute to people who died from complications caused by AIDS. Emotional, she cried during the song. Photos of several famous people appeared on the screens. Among them were Brazilian artists Renato Russo and Cazuza, who died due to the disease.
Madonna has already performed in Brazil on three other tours:
- “The Girlie Show”, in 1993;
- “Sticky and sweet tour”, in 2008;
- and “MDNA”, in 2012.
