Two men were killed this Saturday morning (4) after trying to escape a police blockade and confronting officers from the Caatinga Police Battalion (BPati). The incident allegedly happened in Nossa Senhora da Glória, in the hinterland of Sergipe, and was confirmed by the Military Police.
PM Disclosure
According to the PM, the men had attempted to carry out an armed robbery near the bus station in the city of Nossa Senhora das Dores. Upon seeing a police vehicle, they fled on a motorcycle into a rural area, heading to Glória.
The Caatinga Battalion was called and blocked the exit on Highway SE-230. The PM reported that the suspects had passed by the location and the garrison, upon identifying them, called for a stop. However, the men tried to escape along a side road.
Further ahead, the criminals would have lost their balance and fallen from the motorcycle. Soon after, they got up and took out firearms, shooting at the police officers, who retaliated. The suspects ended up being shot.
The PM reported that the two men were taken to the Nossa Senhora da Glória Hospital to provide assistance, but they did not survive their injuries and died. The motorcycle and weapons used by the criminals were taken to the city police station.
