A 34-year-old man was arrested this Friday (3) suspected of setting fire to a family’s house in Jupiá, West of Santa Catarina. He did not accept the end of the relationship with one of the victims, a 14-year-old teenager.

3 injured
In total, three people were injured in the fire: the teenager, her 38-year-old mother and her 43-year-old father. Suspect set fire to family last Saturday (27).
Investigations
According to investigations, the teenager ended the relationship on Friday (26) and returned to her parents’ house in the city of Jupiá. However, on Saturday (27), the ex went to the residence and stayed all day in an attempt to get back together.
The victim did not accept it and he left at the end of the afternoon, but threatened that he would return and burn the family.
In serious condition
The Civil Police explain that a few minutes later, the suspect returned and set fire to the residence. Flames hit the three people who were injured. Two victims remain hospitalized in serious condition.
Investigations will be completed to determine the details of the cause and circumstances of the crime.
House caught fire
The Military Police explain that the suspect threw a bottle of gasoline out the window at family members who were having dinner in the kitchen.
The teenager’s father had 32% of his body burned with second-degree injuries. The mother had 3rd degree burns on 53% of her body and the girl had minor injuries.
