The theater group Tropa do Balacobaco arrives in the city of Triunfo, in the Sertão do Pajeú, to promote the project’s experiences The Legend in the Scene – Sertões de Pernambuco. The aim of the action is to listen to the stories and legends present in the memories of the country people of Pernambuco.

Between the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May, the population will participate in the activities proposed by the group, which will later be transformed into dramaturgical texts. The first stop will be at the Águas Claras quilombola, this Friday (3), starting at 2pm. After the conversations, the group will present a round of theatrical storytelling.

On Saturday (4), at 8 am, the activity will take place at the Triunfo open-air market. The Troop will listen to stallholders, people walking around the area and traders from surrounding stores. “Certainly, many of the stories from these interviews will have elements of cangaço, since Triunfo was one of the cities visited by Lampião’s gang”, said Ney Mendes, general coordinator of the project.

The project The Legend in the Scene – Sertões de Pernambuco receives incentive from the Funarte Program to Support Continued Actions 2023 – Artistic Groups and Collectives.

Itinerant

The project operates on an itinerant basis and, after Triunfo, it will continue its journey through other cities in the Sertão.

Check the agenda:
