The Civil Police located the body of a 17-year-old teenager who had disappeared after a landslide in Santa Maria, in the Central Region of Rio Grande do Sul, on Wednesday (1st). Her mother, who also disappeared, has not yet been found. Their identities were not disclosed.
According to the Civil Police, the teenager, her mother, father and brother were inside the house when the property was hit by a stone that fell from a hill in the Itararé neighborhood.
The teenager’s father and brother were rescued and taken to medical care.
The Fire Department ended the search for the teenager’s mother on Wednesday at night due to difficult visibility and unstable weather. They should be resumed this Thursday (2).

The storms have already left 13 dead and 21 missing, according to Civil Defense. In total, disruptions were recorded in 134 municipalities.
The latest bulletin released by Civil Defense showed that 44,600 people were affected by the effects of the bad weather. There are 8,300 residents away from home. There are 3,079 in shelters and 5,257 homeless (in the homes of family or friends).
