Created in 1762, it is one of the oldest in our state.

Other proposals

Also approved were the proposals of deputy Terezinha Maia (PL) that provides for the financial protection of the elderly, the initiative of deputy Divaneide Basílio (PT) that recognizes the Ilê Axé Olorun Malé as cultural and intangible heritage of the state of Rio Grande do Norte, house of orixá of the Yoruba tradition (Ketu), located in Natal and the proposal by Hermano Morais (PV) on the creation of a state program to combat haters in public and private education networks.

“This matter is extremely important in our state. But unfortunately, the Brazilian Congress is unable to move forward in regulating these social media due to pressure from the so-called big techs. Meanwhile, a group of victims of people who preach hate on social media are occurring across Brazil and around the world. It’s sad that we have to live with this. Education is one of the ways we can try to raise people’s awareness”, said the president of the commission, deputy Francisco do PT.

At the end of the meeting, a second proposal from the State Government was approved. The one that provides for measures to prevent and combat moral, sexual harassment and other forms of violence within the bodies and entities of the public administration of the Executive Branch of Rio Grande do Norte, repealing state law No. 11,440, of May 22, 2023 .

Representatives Francisco do PT, Divaneide Basílio (PT) and Eudiane Macedo (PV) were present at the 4th meeting of the Commission for Education, Science and Technology, Socioeconomic Development, Environment and Tourism (CECTDSMAT) of the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Norte.
