On the morning of this Thursday (02), a body of a man was discovered floating in Laguna Mundaú, located in the Vergel do Lago neighborhood, in Maceió. The individual showed evidence of violence, raising suspicions of homicide. The identity of the victim and the exact circumstances of his death remain unknown at this time.
According to preliminary reports, the body was approximately 15 meters from the bank. The Alagoas Military Fire Department (CBM-AL) was called and sent a team to remove the body, which will later be under the care of the 1st Military Police Battalion.
Sergeant Nicolas, from CBM-AL, reported that the body showed signs of restraint on the limbs and a belt around the neck, suggesting the possibility of hanging. “The body is tied by the feet and has a ribbon around the neck. Everything indicates that it could have been a hanging as well. We are waiting for the IC to find out if there are any injuries caused by a firearm or bladed weapon. More or less, the body he’s been there for about three days, given his condition”, he said in an interview with Rádio Pajuçara FM.
The Legal Medical Institute will be responsible for collecting the body for an autopsy examination, in order to determine the exact cause of death.
