An unidentified man tried to invade the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Acre (Into), in Rio Branco, on Tuesday night (30), to see his mother who is hospitalized.
According to the Military Police (PM-AC), the team was called by the unit’s employees, however, he had already fled when the police arrived. The employees said that the suspect arrived aggressively at the unit and tried to invade the ICU to see his hospitalized mother.
When stopped, the suspect allegedly threatened hospital staff. No one was injured and it is not confirmed whether the suspect was armed.
In a statement, the Acre Health Department (Sesacre) reported that doctors acted quickly to prevent entry to the restricted area and took the man to another area of the hospital. There, hospital security guards restrained the suspect. See the note in full below.

According to PM-AC, the military spoke with hospital staff and carried out patrols around the area in search of the suspect, but were unsuccessful and he was not found.
Employees told police that the suspect left the hospital saying he would return.

The government of Acre, through the State Department of Health (Sesacre), has come forward to clarify the incident at the Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Acre (Into), on the night of this Tuesday, 30th, where an individual tried to access a restricted area of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Medical professionals promptly acted in accordance with established protocols, preventing the individual’s access and taking him out of the restricted area, where he was contained by the institution’s security guards.
For security reasons, the Civil Police were called to ensure the integrity of patients, employees and hospital facilities. We emphasize that all measures were taken, following standard procedures and aiming for the well-being and safety of everyone involved.
