The Grand Master of Freemasonry, Ademar Freitas, was elected by the Grand Lodges as president of the V Zone, that is, of all of Brazil, for the CMI (Confederation of Inter-American Freemasonry). The mandate lasts three years and the new president’s focus will be on dialogue between the V Zone and the VI Zone, other countries in South America.
To JD1, Ademar pointed out that his election could put Mato Grosso do Sul in the spotlight on the Masonic scene. “By integrating Freemasonry in South America, we will be able to increase Freemasonry in the state. Since we are going to bring more exchanges and closer relationships with large stores, since Mato Grosso do Sul is one of the most important large stores in the Central-West and South regions of the country”.
The CMI is the largest entity in the world, consisting of 98 large lodges, with more than 500 thousand Freemasons, who are part of the group. The entity was founded on April 14, 1947 and is made up of Masonic powers from 25 countries in North, South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean and Europe, and is divided into six zones.
GM Ademar also detailed in the report that just yesterday, a Brazilian was chosen as general secretary, and he is the one who will command the actions. Given this, Ademar would represent Brazil during the three-year period.
“Now it’s a question of coordination. We will meet to set goals and objectives, and these meetings are held frequently so that everything remains aligned”, he concluded.
