Juliano was an emblematic figure on the legal scene, dedicating his life to law and the defense of fundamental rights. Between 2016 and 2018, he was elected president of the Brazilian Bar Association Section of the Federal District (OAB/DF). He had a master’s degree in Constitutional Law and Constitutional Procedure, and a postgraduate degree in Civil Procedure. He has also worked as a university professor since 2000.

In a statement, the head of the Executive lamented the loss and praised Juliano’s work in front of the OAB/DF.

“Juliano Costa Couto was a consummate lawyer and an undisputed leader at the head of the Brazilian Bar Association Section of the Federal District, an entity that he presided over from 2016 to 2018, and where we had the opportunity to work together, revealing his competence, balance and permanent willingness for dialogue. He leaves a legacy that will inspire us to reaffirm, every day, our commitment to the public spirit that inspires us. His name will always be remembered with nostalgia, by his friends, by the law, by the Law that he defended, and by Brasília that he loved so much. To the family, I offer my most sincere condolences,” said Ibaneis Rocha.
