The comedian Whindersson Nunes raised more than R$1 million among his followers to be donated to families affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. The influencer published a clipping of a bank account with the amount, on the afternoon of this Friday, 3rd.

“To Caesar what is Caesar’s. And to the people what is the people’s,” wrote Whindersson. He created a specific account for fundraising and shared the Pix key with his more than 59 million followers.

The comedian detailed that he will send supplies by helicopter and that he has a security guard hired by him in the region, to receive and make sure that the products are not diverted. In a following story, Whindersson showed food baskets being removed from a truck.

Government also announced Pix

The Government of RS has reopened, for residents of other states or for those who wish to help in another way, the donation channel for the SOS Rio Grande do Sul account. It is possible to donate through Pix, with the CNPJ key 92.958.800/ 0001-38, for the account at the Association of Banks in the State of Rio Grande do Sul or Banco do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (both options may appear). Donations can be made to flood victims by individuals or legal entities.

There are also other ways to help the population affected by the rains, such as donating blood, basic items and, for those closest to the affected areas, volunteering to help at the Health departments. Check out the full list of ways here.
