On the first night of rehearsals, Pabllo Vittar had already appeared alongside Madonna.
Historic show
In total, the stage is 812 square meters, with a 24-meter front and a direct height of 18 meters to the ceiling. The structure is 2.40 meters from the ground, to assist the public’s vision. The singer will have three catwalks that can be used for passage and choreography. The central walkway is 22 meters long, and the lateral ones are 20 meters each.
The performance will be divided into seven acts — which serve to tell the queen of pop’s various phases. Hits like “Like a Virgin” and “Bitch, I’m Madonna” are sung, but the artist also brings songs that haven’t been heard for years, like “Nothing Really Matters”, “Erotica” and “Justify My Love”.
The singer’s show is part of the celebration of Itaú bank’s centenary, but will also be sponsored by R$10 million from Rio’s city hall and R$10 million from the state government. According to the city hall, the potential economic impacts of the show were calculated based on the city’s traditional New Year’s Eve celebration. The return to the city’s economy could reach R$500 million, said Patrick Corrêa, president of Riotur, the Splash.
Madonna’s fee is R$17 million, according to a document obtained by Splash. Total expenses reach R$60 million. The event is organized by Bonus Track Entretenimento Ltda.
