Find out who the councilor is who is in prison for bidding fraud and cried during his testimony | Santos and Region

Ricardo Queixão (PSD), 40 years old, is a councilor in Cubatão (SP) and has already presided over the City Council. Before getting involved in politics, he was forklift driver and operator and also has a connection with the world of samba. He was arrested on March 16 during Operation Munditia launched against a bid fraud scheme that favored companies linked to the PCC.

The councilor had his temporary detention converted into preventative prison last Thursday (25). In a hearing held on Tuesday (23) he said that he received “help” of R$5,000 a month from businessman Vagner Borges Dias, considered the main figure in the criminal scheme and who is on the run. Queixão was denounced by the MP-SP for being part of a criminal organization.

In Baixada Santista, along with Queixão, city hall employee Fabiana de Abreu Silva and André do Rap’s lawyer and director of the City Council Aureo Tupinamba were also arrested – the latter is now free.

Queixão is in his third term in the Cubatão Legislature. In 2012 he was elected for the first time with 2,099 votes, for the PRB / PMDB / PSDC coalition.

The third most voted candidate was re-elected in 2016, with 1,967 votes for the PDT/PSD/PROS coalition.

In 2020, he was elected again with less than half the votes he received in 2012. He was chosen by 1,031 residents.

Queixão is also involved in the world of samba. The Cidade de Madeira Association is active, which will be the future Vila dos Pescadores Samba School in the city.

During the hearing, Queixão said that he had been approached by Vagner, unless I was mistaken, in 2020. According to him, the approach was to demonstrate his interest in doing political work in Cubatão.

The councilor said he called the businessman and later signed an agreement with him. In the version presented, Queixão would have to support a possible candidate for federal deputy and, in return, would receive these monthly payments, which, according to the prisoner, would be used by him to fulfill the commitments made to the population.

Queixão also said that he used the money received via Pix, in third-party accounts, to pay people who supported him in the campaign, and for those who were unable to find positions.
