On the morning of this Friday, the 26th, the Civil Police of the state of Acre, through the Child and Adolescent Victim Assistance Station (DECAV), arrested MVSL, aged 38, as a result of investigations related to the crime of abandonment of disabled people and ill-treatment. The suspect was being investigated for leaving his two children, aged 8 and 11, alone at home, in addition to physically attacking them and subjecting them to ill-treatment, including forcing them to remain on their knees.

According to information obtained by the DECAV investigation team, MVSL left the house and left the children unattended, and when he was under the influence of alcohol, he physically and verbally attacked them, subjecting them to degrading conditions.

“After checking, it was found that there was an open arrest warrant for the suspect. The warrant was served in the Centro neighborhood, where MVSL was located and detained by the police team. Taken to the police station for interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crimes accused of him during the interrogation”, informed the head delegate of DECAV, Dr. Carla Fabíola Coutinho.

In view of the evidence and the confession of the person under investigation, MVSL was placed at the disposal of the justice system for the appropriate legal procedures. The arrest of this individual is yet another example of the Acre Civil Police’s commitment to combating violence against children and adolescents, ensuring the protection and well-being of the most vulnerable in society.
