The first transfer of May from the 2024 Municipal Participation Fund (FPM) will be credited this Friday, 10th, in the amount of R$ 7.80 billion, already deducting Fundeb retention. In gross values, the amount reaches R$9.75 billion for the country’s city halls. In comparison with the same ten-year period in the previous year, there is a nominal growth of 6.48% or 3.32% when disregarding the effects of inflation. For the year, the Fund is rising 11.42% or 7.16% in real terms.

The amount is part of the federal collection from Income Taxes and Taxes on Industrialized Products (IR and IPI) between the 20th and 30th of last month. Based on data made available by the National Treasury Secretariat (STN), a CNM survey indicates a 6.48% increase in values, compared to the value of the first transfer in May last year, which was just over R$9. .1 billion.

Alagoas will receive R$171.9 million in the first ten years of May from the FPM.

This growth in the first transfer of May, however, reduces to 3.32% when the effect of inflation is removed. The same occurs with the total amount transferred to municipal entities from January until now, the increase from 11.42% drops to 7.16% when removing the effect of inflation for the period. In the first months of 2023, R$70.2 billion were transferred to city halls and, in the same period of the current year, R$78.2 billion.

Maceió will receive a transfer of R$30.3 million, Arapiraca R$7.2 million and 29 municipalities will receive the lowest amounts of R$703 thousand.
