This Thursday (9) the Civil Police carries out the “Ghost Car” operation, which investigates possible fraud in vehicle registrations at the Santa Catarina Detran. In total, eleven search and seizure warrants are being executed in Santa Catarina, São Paulo, Bahia and Mato Grosso do Sul.

As determined, those investigated used three companies from outside Santa Catarina and attempted to register 37 vehicles for the first time at Detran/SC, using false documents.

According to the Civil Police, the vehicles (cars and trucks) in question had not even left the factory and were valued at approximately R$12 million.

During the operation, electronic devices were seized, which will be analyzed to continue the investigation and identify the others involved.

The search and seizure warrants were carried out in the cities of Florianópolis (SC), São Paulo (SP), Mogi das Cruzes (SP), Dourados (MS), Campo Formoso (BA) and Salvador (BA). 70 civil police officers from São Paulo, Bahia, Mato Grosso do Sul and Santa Catarina participated in the operation.
