Woman is arrested on suspicion of posing as a call girl to rob industrialist in Manaus | Amazon

A 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of posing as a call girl, robbing and extorting a 35-year-old industrialist, on Thursday (15). The crime occurred in the early hours of April 1st this year, on Rua Paulo Alves, Coroado neighborhood, East Zone of Manaus.

According to delegate Marcos Arruda, the woman is suspected of involvement in scams carried out through a dating website, where call girls are hired. The investigations began after an industrialist went to the police station and reported that he had been a victim of criminal action.

“The man reported that he entered a website and hired the services of a call girl. He then started to keep in touch with her via WhatsApp and arranged to meet her at her house in the Coroado neighborhood. Upon arriving at the scene, the man was received and taken to the room, when four more suspects and two hooded women appeared, who began threatening to kill him with machetes and knives,” said the delegate.

According to Arruda, the victim was very scared because the criminals were very aggressive. They asked the man to access his banking app and make transfers to their bank account.

“After he made all the transfers, the suspects kept his cell phone and released him at around 7 am, but threatened him not to contact the police,” reported the delegate.

After the incident, the victim sought out the police unit and filed a Police Report (BO). During the procedures, the victim recognized the woman he had been in contact with and gave her address to the police.

She was represented in court for her arrest and the court order was issued by the Judiciary. The police went to her house and arrested her.

“PC-AM emphasizes that investigations into the case will continue, in order to identify the others involved in the criminal action,” stated Arruda.

The woman will be charged with robbery qualified by agents, restriction of the victim’s freedom and use of a bladed weapon. She will undergo a custody hearing and will be available to the Court.
