According to the president of the Chamber, the values are justified because of the accumulated variation in the IPCA between June 2015 and March 2024
The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), readjusted the daily rates for federal deputies for work trips by 60.2%. The change was published in the Chamber’s official diary this Thursday (April 25, 2024).
The justification is that there was an accumulated variation in the IPCA (Broad National Consumer Price Index) from June 2015 to March 2024.
The expenses allowed for the President of the Chamber went from R$ 611 to R$ 981, while for the other deputies they went from R$ 524 to R$ 842. In addition, there is an additional provision of R$ 448.00 for congressmen related to embarkation and disembarkation fees.
“The purpose of this proposal is to readjust the values of daily rates and additional boarding and disembarking fees granted nationwide in favor of parliamentarians, civil servants and occasional collaborators of the Chamber of Deputies, intended to compensate for extraordinary expenses with accommodation, food and urban transportation ”highlights the text.
